GOALS: To drive entries for Char-Broil’s 70th an-
niversary sweepstakes via email
CHALLENGES: Char-Broil planned a special 70th
anniversary campaign in which they gave away 70
prizes to sweepstakes entrants. The challenge was
to bring awareness to the overall sweepstakes using
the provided creative in a way that worked well in
an email. It was a challenge determine how often
to feature the 70th anniversary content.
RESULTS: The emails drove 16,510 clicks to Char-Broil’s 70th anniversary entry page and were responsible for 6,604 entries, or 16.54% of all sweepstakes entries. The first email had a click-rate that
was 104% higher than the 2018 baseline. The second push had a click rate 130% higher than the
2018 baseline. These campaigns increased Char-Broil’s overall 2018 baseline click rate by 8%, created greater brand awareness, and increased customer loyalty.
WHAT WE LIKED: The integration of a sweep-
stakes into the email content and the high engage-
ment that this drove.
